What to look for

Signs you're dealing with ant extermination — not something else.

  • Persistent ant trails along counters

Scouts laying down pheromone trails to a food source means a colony is established within 30m of the entry.

  • Large black ants near windows or sinks

Workers over 10mm with a single-segment waist are carpenter ants — wood-damaging and need cavity treatment.

  • Fine sawdust piles indoors

Carpenter ants push wood shavings (frass) out of nest galleries. Piles near baseboards or sills signal an active interior nest.

  • Tree branches contacting siding

Branches and shrub limbs against the building are highways. Trimming back is part of every long-term ant fix.

  • Swarmers indoors in spring

Winged ants emerging inside the home mean a mature colony is somewhere in the structure — bait placement matters now.

  • Pavement-ant mounds at driveway edges

Small dirt piles between concrete slabs or along driveway joints are pavement-ant colonies — surface-only treatments rarely reach them.

The method

Ant Extermination
is a process, not a spray.

Species-specific gel or granular bait carried back to the colony by foraging workers, paired with perimeter exclusion at known entry points. Carpenter-ant treatments add cavity-level treatment at the parent nest where accessible.

  1. Identify the species

Carpenter ants, pavement ants, and pharaoh ants each take different baits and different placements. Mis-identification is the most common reason DIY treatments fail.

  2. Bait + treat

Species-appropriate bait placed at active trails. Carpenter-ant nests are treated directly where accessible (wall voids, soffits, deck boards).

  3. Exclusion

Perimeter entry points sealed where possible. Branches contacting the building are noted (carpenter ants love bridges from trees to siding).

  4. Follow-up

Two-to-three week re-inspection to confirm colony knockdown. 60-day warranty on every treatment.

Pricing

One flat fee. No upsells, no surprise site charges.

Pavement and pharaoh ant treatments are typically a single-visit residential rate. Carpenter ant treatments — which often involve treating wall voids or soffits — scale up based on access and severity. Acreages and commercial sites are quoted on inspection.

Carpenter ants in the soffit · Regina two-storey

Before

Frass piles on the deck below the south soffit each morning. Large workers spotted on the deck rail at dusk; faint rustling heard inside the soffit.

During

Cavity treatment at the soffit entry via long-reach applicator. Gel bait at the worker trail along the deck rail. Branch contacting the roof noted and clipped.

After

Frass production stopped within five days. Three-week follow-up found no live workers or new frass. Owner trimmed the branch back annually after.

They figured out it was carpenter ants when the last company said pavement ants. Different bait, problem solved.
